"Gosh, we're plenty wet!" Hudson looked at her, a toothy grin stretching his lips as he laughed. His drenched work shirt clung to his broad frame, and short strands of wet hair were stuck to his forehead.
"Yeah, just a bit," Wildfire sneered through a smile, taking off her glasses to blow them dry. When she returned them to her face, she found Hudson still watching her in amusement. Her brown and white hair hung limp around her head, and her jeans and blue blouse appeared darker from being soaked through.
She squashed her lips tight in an attempt to keep her smile from widening, though her face still flushed with color when his smile beamed back at her.
The shop fell into silence as they bashfully wavered on their feet. Coming off the exhilaration of racing through the rain, they now stood close to each other, wrestling with fluttering hearts and swelling feelings.
She grabbed his arm, stretched up on her toes, and pressed her lips against his.
His eyes went wide for a moment, only to drop closed as he fell headlong into her kiss.
She released her breath as they parted, her eyes falling away nervously.
A gentle hand on her cheek coaxed them back.
All anxiety faded away as his warm smile melted her from the inside.
He closed his eyes and bent down to kiss her again.
As the rain pattered across the mechanic shop's roof, the two fell breathlessly in love.

I keep finding little pieces of the story to sketch out, and this one begged for a comic 🥰 This scene is loosely based on how me and my good friend got 'caught' in the rain and I realized I might have just fallen in love... and now we're coming up on 7 years of marriage 😊
