I've had this scene in my head for a while but I was never happy with the angles I tried... I really wanted Gem to be facing forward with her hand outstretched, but I finally shifted the angle and was able to better show the darkness/grunge and light, so it all worked out!

While it can certainly be Hudson on the other side of her reach, I intended her to be reaching to the true source of peace among chaos...

The Earth was chaos and empty and darkness on the faces of the depths and the Spirit of God hovered on the faces of the waters.
